Our Bus-Shelter Murals

King Charles 111 was crowned on 6th May, 2023, and towns and parishes up and down the country set about finding ways to commemorate it.  Landulph Parish Council came up with an excellent way to celebrate the event: here we had a recently-refurbished bus shelter, a sturdy building with five white walls, giving us five pristine canvases saying ‘Paint me!’    Artists living locally were invited to submit relevant ideas.  Mine were based on landscapes and activities illustrating the area and were accepted by the Parish Council.

Doll gets a smile, bear gets a nose

I'm Elouisea Stone, and I live in Cloake Place, Cargreen, where I've been nestled for nearly 4 years. My journey with doll repair began at the end of 2021, when I lived across the road in Hatt. I spotted a doll at a car boot sale, lying face up in a box, her eyes closed and limbs loose. Three weeks later, I finally brought her home. She was a 1940s composition doll, needing restringing and some TLC. I was shaking as I worked on her, but she turned out beautifully, and I was hooked.

I’m a great believer in the power of Panto

Having directed various School Drama productions during my teaching career, I somewhat tentatively suggested producing a parish pantomime during a Landulph Festival committee meeting in 2015. With the enthusiastic support of the committee, I then began researching how this idea might work out in practice.   Being a rural parish, I thought Jack & The Beanstalk might be a good choice of production with a wide-ranging cast of characters.
