New grant awarded to improve accessibility

Landulph Parish Council currently manages Landulph Orchard Green, comprising Duke Orchard and Duchess Green, which has been transformed from silage fields into a vibrant biodiversity haven for the local community.

Despite its appeal, access remains challenging for people with disabilities, families with prams, and those with limited mobility. To address this, the Parish Council will use Community Levelling Up Programme funding to enhance accessibility and provide regular local events. Improvements will include renovating an old track to create a turning and drop-off area at Duchess Green and upgrading paths using recycled hardcore to allow easier access for people with disabilities and families with young children. To support small community events such as fruit tree pruning, cider making, wildlife walks, and school or festival activities, the site will be equipped with essential facilities including compostable toilets, a field shelter, and bike stands in both fields. A dedicated, community-managed website and social media presence will also be developed to share the area's history, promote events, and document wildlife sightings.
